The United States Mint’s 2026 Semiquincentennial Silver Proof Set became unavailable shortly after its June 11 release, posting opening sales of 261,516 and now commanding sizable premiums on the secondary market.

Issued by the Mint at $245 and featuring 1776 ~ 2026 dual-dated coins along with one-year-only designs, complete sets have recently sold on eBay for $310 to $349.95. The average sale price was about $326, representing a typical premium of $81, or about 33%, above the issue price.
Across the observed range, buyers paid $65 to $104.95 more than the Mint price, equal to premiums of roughly 26.5% to 42.8%.

The Mint’s first sales report, covering orders through June 14, showed that collectors had claimed 96.4% of the upwardly revised mintage limit of 271,250 sets. The Mint’s product page continues to list the set as unavailable, with a “Remind Me” option for customers seeking email or text alerts should additional inventory become available.
1776-2026 Cent Draws Strongest Individual Prices
Secondary-market activity is not limited to complete sets. Some sellers are breaking sets apart, and several individual coins are attracting substantial prices of their own.

The proof 1776 ~ 2026 Lincoln cent has emerged as one of the most sought-after pieces, averaging approximately $128 in recent sales, with prices ranging from $109.91 to $140. Its strength reflects the cent’s limited availability: the Mint ended production of cents for general circulation in 2025, making the 2026 issue available only in select collector products.
This year’s 1776 ~ 2026 Lincoln cent appears in only in three U.S. Mint products: the 2026 Silver Proof Set, the standard 2026 Proof Set with clad coinage, and the uncirculated 2026 Mint Set. Of these, only the two proof sets contain the cent in proof finish.
Silver Coins Also Bring Strong Prices
The set contains seven coins struck in 99.9% fine silver: the Emerging Liberty dime, all five Semiquincentennial quarters and the Enduring Liberty half dollar. Together, these silver coins contain 1.473 troy ounces of the precious metal. The Silver Proof Set is the only Mint product offering the complete 2026 Semiquincentennial silver coin lineup.

The Enduring Liberty half dollar weighs 0.399 troy ounce in silver and has averaged about $109, with sales ranging from $99 to $120.
At their average prices, the cent and half dollar alone combine for about $237, approaching the Mint’s $245 issue price for the entire set.

The Emerging Liberty silver dime has averaged about $46, with sales ranging from $35 to $59.99. Its silver weight is 0.079 troy ounce.

Listings featuring the lens with all five silver quarters have sold for approximately $100 to $120. Their one-year-only designs honor the Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and Gettysburg Address. The five coins total 0.995 troy ounce of silver, or 0.199 troy ounce each.

The set is completed by a non-silver Jefferson nickel and a Native American $1 coin. All coins except the Native American dollar carry the dual date 1776–2026.
Strongest Silver Proof Set Opening in Years
Opening sales of 261,516 sets marked the strongest start for the series in years. That total more than doubled the 120,807 sets reported during the opening days of the 2025 edition and surpassed recent launches for the 2024, 2023 and 2022 Silver Proof Sets.
The Mint initially published a mintage limit of 250,520 sets before raising it publicly to 271,250 shortly after release. Strong demand suggests the Mint could have sold more sets had the limit been higher. Annual proof sets typically continue to attract buyers throughout the year and often receive a further boost during the holiday season.
Distinctive Semiquincentennial elements add significant appeal to this year’s coins, although a higher mintage likely would have produced a noticeably weaker secondary market for both complete sets and individual coins.
